Jasper Cabin

For old-fashioned charm and a few modern amenities, Jasper may be just your spot.  It is a traditional log cabin, with two bedrooms, a kitchen and a living/dining room.

Set on the lakeshore of our rustic retreat property, you'll have excellent views of Gunflint Lake and access to the dock right in front of the cabin.  A small firepit overlooks the waters' edge.

Jasper is unique amongst our cabins in that we call it rustic, due to the lack of indoor plumbing.  The cabin is heated with a woodstove, there is electricity so that you have lights and a refrigerator, and there even is a sink in the kitchen. 

Water is brought in by the jug, and it must be heated on the gas range for cooking and clean-up. There is an outhouse out back for bathroom facilities.  It's rather like camping, except that you have comfortable beds in which to sleep, a solid roof overhead, and lights for staying up late. 

We have a wood-fired sauna near the lodge, and folks will often use that for bathing and clean-up. The cabin has a washstand in a corner of the kitchen, just like in the old days.

The rustic living that Jasper provides isn't for everyone. But for those looking to take a small step back in time to a quieter lifestyle, they will find a cozy, comfortable style at this cabin.
