		Summer 2009 If you are staying with us this summer, the bread oven schedule is listed below. We would love to have you join us on our pizza night. If you want to bake bread while you are here, just let me know, so we can plan it into our schedule. Bread Oven Schedule* June 12, June 20 and June 26 July 2, 9, 16, 23, 30 August 6, 13, 20, 27 September--to be announced *Subject to change without prior notice--but we usually are able to maintain this schedule.

PIZZA ALL THE TIME

At last, the calendar says that we are a week and a half away from the solstice. My favorite time of the year! Already the days are quite long, with a glow of twilight still in the sky at ten p.m. Thanks to the cool weather, the mosquitoes have been relatively low in quantity...gotta love that.

For the summer months, I plan to dedicate the Planet Hestons page to pizza. As many of you know, pizza is an important food here at Heston's, and in the coming weeks, I would like to share with you some of our adventures at the bread oven.

I will include my recipe for pizza crust, with ideas for using it at home (where you may not have an outdoor wood-fired bread oven); some of our favorite topping possibilities; and finally, a new feature called Pizza of the Week. Each week, I am attempting a new-to-us pizza combination, and then I will post them to this page. I promise to share the successes and the failures!

When it comes to pizza, we are game to try almost anything. After all, it really is just flatbread, right? We are always on the look out for new combinations and flavors, and we welcome suggestions. Brooks Range Campfire Tales

In 1999, we bought a recently retired Ford school buys that had spent its life hauling kids in Saco, Montana. After some seat and stop arm removal, kitchen and bunk bed reconstruction, the addition of a small woodstove and a generous coat of Ford Meadow green paint, we were ready to roll. We had ourselves a primitive but comfortable rolling cabin.
